Adele is a Teacher of English for Academic Purposes at the Centre for Academic English (CfAE). Her responsibilities include teaching on the CfAE's doctoral writing courses, listening and speaking courses and developing tailored workshops in collaboration with various departments.
She is also a coordinator on the six-week summer pre-sessional course for incoming students who need to improve their English proficiency to meet the College's English language requirement. This course helps students to develop their academic communication skills in preparation for their STEMM degree programmes at Imperial.
In her free time, she volunteers for Cara, an organisation that supports academics in exile or in countries where they are at risk.
Before joining Imperial in 2017, Adele taught English for Specific Purposes in Geneva, Switzerland, where she designed and delivered bespoke courses for staff members of international organisations and financial institutions. While completing her Master’s in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching at King’s College London, she also worked as Director of Studies for a private language school and taught English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
