As Career Development Coordinator for the National Heart & Lung Institute (NHLI) I manage and develop career support processes including: academic recruitment; mentoring; promotion and probation; termly Job Level Reviews for professional and technical staff; and annual appraisals (PRDP) for all staff.
My role as Administrative Athena Swan lead for NHLI involves implementing inclusive policies to improve levels of gender parity and access to resources and support alongside collecting information on their impact. I work closely with the NHLI Communications Team to highlight career training, development and equality, diversity and inclusion news in the monthly newsletter and institute Twitter feed.
Please contact me if you have any queries or suggestions about career development, or equality diversity and inclusion, at the NHLI.
I have worked in a variety of administrative, management and executive support roles across higher education institutions in London including Kings College, Birkbeck College and Kingston University. I have also previously worked at Imperial as PA to Vice Dean in the Faculty of Medicine and as Executive Coordinator in Executive Education in the Business School.
Previously I attained a PGCE in Primary Education and taught children at Key Stage 1 & 2 in South London.
Following a BA in Politics I worked within local government supporting executive staff at the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and coordinating county wide events for young people and children in care at Nottinghamshire County Council.
