Summary

Dr Wang is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Functional Membrane and Energy Materials group at Imperial College London. He received his BEng (Hons) degree from Zhejiang University in 2016 and PhD degree from Imperial College in 2021, both in Chemical Engineering. Anqi’s research is focused on the function-led synthetic discovery of microporous polymers that provide potential solutions to the pressing challenges of energy, environment, and sustainability. He is particularly interested in the fundamental correlations between the chemical structures and the properties of organic materials across multiple length and time scales.

His main research activities revolve around microporous polymers and their diverse applications in membrane separation, purification, and energy storage and conversion.

  • Function-led design, synthesis, and characterization of microporous polymers and ion-exchange polymers
  • Fabrication and optimisation of these materials into thin films, membranes, and complex structures that often involve multiple components and interfaces
  • Their diverse applications in membrane-based molecular separations and electrochemical energy storage and conversion, such as redox flow batteries, Lithium organic batteries, and hydrogen technologies.
