Bernardo is a Research Associate at the Centre for Health Economics & Policy Innovation (CHEPI), Imperial College London. He is also affiliated to the Oxford Covid-19 Government Response Tracker (OxCGRT) at the Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University. 

His research interests lie at the intersection of consumer psychology, sustainability, social class, and health decision-making. Some of the research topics he has recently explored include:

  • The psychology of environmental perceptions and considerations;
  • (Un)healthy eating and its interplays with social class;
  • Children and adolescents' eating habits;
  • Sustainability considerations;
  • Behaviour and Covid-19.

His research ultimately focuses on how behavioral interventions can improve people's lives and increase social welfare.

Prior to joining Imperial College Business School, he earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Behavioural and Decision Sciences) at the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration, Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV-EBAPE). He also worked as a Data Scientist at the OxCGRT.
