SUMMARY

What constitutes an effective CD8+ T cell immune response in humans? And does CD8+ T cell efficacy determine human health? To understand human immunity we need to study humans. However, the work that can be performed in humans is very limited. I am developing alternative approaches that use theoretical techniques (mathematics, statistics and bioinformatics) to interrogate, model and analyse the experiments we can do -experiments of nature or minimally-invasive experiments- to obtain the information we need. My goal is to develop a predictive, quantitative understanding of the human T cell response.
