Thomas AGR, Mangles SPD, Najmudin Z, et al., 2006, The effect of laser focusing conditions in laser wakefield acceleration experiments
The effect of focusing conditions in laser wakefield acceleration is studied. Short focal length geometries produce large dark currents while longer focal lengths produce narrow energy spread beams. © 2006 Optical Societ of America.

Mangles SPD, Thomas AGR, Kaluza MC, et al., 2006, Laser wakefield acceleration in the first plasma wave period
Beam profile measurements of laser-wakefield accelerated electrons reveal that the electrons are accelerated within the first wave period of the plasma wave. © 2006 Optical Societ of America.
Mangles SPD, Murphy CD, Najmudin Z, et al., 2006, Observation of monoenergetic relativistic electron beams from intense laser - plasma interactions
We report the observation of monoenergetic electron beams (dE/E < 5%) produced by the interaction of a 12TW, 40fs laser pulse with underdense plasma, in contrast to all previous experiments, which produced energy spreads ~100%. © 2005 Optical Society of America.
