Dr Benjamin Dyer is a Cardiology & General Medicine Specialist Registrar in the London Deanery and EPSRC Clinical Research Fellow at the National Heart & Lung Institute.
He studied Medicine at Imperial College School of Medicine, Imperial College London where he graduating in 2007 with Distinction in Clinical Practice, Merits in Surgery, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Pathology, and the Cheadle Prize for 2nd overall best performance in Clinical Medicine finals. During his undergraduate studies he undertook an intercalated BSc [Hons] in Medical Sciences with Cardiovascular Sciences.
During medical school he spent an elective working with Selian Lutheran Hospital, near Arusha in Tanzania and outreach into the surrounding National Parks with Catholic Flying Doctors. His clinical training to date has been obtained in London with rotations at Hammersmith Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, Royal Marsden Hospital, West Middlesex Hospital, East Surrey Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital. He obtained his Member of Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) diploma in 2011.
He joined the National Heart & Lung Institute in April 2012 to undertake a PhD and is conducting research into label-free autofluorescence lifetime metrology as a novel technique to assess heart disease.
