AB - The invention relates to a process for selective preparation of 4-substituted or 4,4'-disubstituted alkylated derivatives of biphenyl or a biphenyl derivative. According to said process, biphenyl or a biphenyl derivative are brought into contact with an alkylated benzol in the presence of a catalyst. The invention is characterised in that a zeolite with a large micropore diameter is used as the catalyst.
