Mastery for Engineers 3 - CENG96001
Aims
The aim of mastery in the 3rd year is to reinforce the integration of core Chemical Engineering elements in tackling general and design-type problems. In the 3rd year, course elements pertaining to aspects of process design, environmental engineering, and safety will provide students with a greater depth of understanding of practical engineering matters.
Role
Lecturer
Reaction Engineering 2 - CENG96002
Aims
The course focuses on heterogeneous and multi-phase reactors. Through understanding the underlying physics of the different reactor types, the student will be equipped to carry out reactor design tasks for conventional and novel reactors in a systematic way. Particular focus is on teaching a generally applicable problem solution approach, which is of relevance to the 4th year design project as well as professional practice.
Role
Course Leader
Pharmaceutical Process Development - CENG97020
Aims
This elective course intends to equip students with the necessary knowledge for a technical position in the pharmaceutical industry and is, therefore, of particular relevance to students in the fine chemistry stream or MSc students with an interest in this field. Although the fine chemicals, agrochemical and food sector are not expressly mentioned, many presented concepts are also applicable in these industries. The course strives to make clear how previously acquired knowledge in the areas of chemistry, reaction engineering, fluid dynamics and separation sciences can be fused and extended to be applied in a pharmaceutical development context.
