PRE-CLINICAL ASSESSMENT OF KNEE RECONSTRUCTIONS

My main research interest at Imperial was the pre-clinical assessment of knee joint reconstructions. Research projects included:

- Total Knee Replacement (TKR) Kinematics
- Soft tissue strains caused by TKR
- TKR Contact Characteristics
- TKR Stability
- Fatigue Testing of Meniscus Replacements
- ACL Graft Fixation Testing
- Development of bicruciate retaining TKr

In addition to the projects listed above, I worked alongside several orthopaedic surgeons, assisting them in their research projects, including:

  • Biomechanics of high tibial osteotomy
  • Kinematics of unicondylar knee replacement (UKR)
  • Fracture fixation of the proximal humerus
  • Proximal femur fracture fixation
  • Achilles tendon rupture
  • Anterolateral stability of the knee joint
