Summary
I am the IT Manager of two departments in the School of Public Health: Infectious Disease Epidemiology (DIDE), and Epidemiology and Biostatistics (EBS). We have offices at the St Mary's and White City campuses. I have been at Imperial College London since 2014 and manage a small team of technicians, supporting all of the staff and students' IT needs, plus managing our private server estate.
My career in IT began in 2000 after a stint as an astronomer at the Jodrell Bank Radio Observatory. I transitioned to IT Systems Administration, specialising in Sun Microsystems server maintenance and data protection.
My current main areas of expertise are in Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, Hyper-V virtualisation and failover clustering, disaster recovery, performance tuning, hardware procurement, and user support. I also manage our datacentre and the infrastructure of our private servers and departmental High Performance Compute cluster.
