Summary

Carolyn Webb is a Research Fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London.

Carolyn studied physiology as an undergraduate at the University of Otago, New Zealand.  During her doctoral research she investigated the effects of ovarian hormones on the cardiovascular system at Imperial College London, focusing on the effects of oestrogen and testosterone on coronary vasomotion, blood flow, myocardial ischaemia and angina, and was a finalist in the Young Investigator Award competition at the American College of Cardiology annual scientific sessions. Current research continues her interest in patient-based investigation of coronary flow and control mechanisms in coronary artery disease and microvascular angina, incorporating coronary artery imaging, coronary flow measurement, and vascular function.  Additional projects are investigating the management of stable angina in women. She has published extensively in high impact factor journals and is a reviewer for numerous journals.
