Summary

I am a postdoctoral researcher. My main interests are:

  • Ageing
  • Molecular epidemiology
  • NMR metabolomics
  • LC-MS metabolomics

CURRENT PROJECT

Metabolomic and omic assessment of biological ageing across the life-course (METAGE) - Systems biology assessment of ‘biological ageing’, using highly sensitive metabolomics analyses and other ‘omics platforms (including genomics, epigenetics, transcriptomics and proteomics), and investigate the key determinants of ‘accelerated ageing’

Previous projects/ studies:

  • INTERMAP - The project is an epidemiological investigation of relationships between micro- and macronutrient intakes, timed 24-hour urinary biochemistry and metabolic phenotypes, and blood pressure
  • MOMFIT -  Maternal-Offspring Metabolics:Family Intervention Trial (MOMFIT) is a randomized clinical lifestyle intervention trial to prevent excess gestational weight gain in overweight and obese women
  • CRUK funded phase 1 clinical trial of AZD3965 on advanced cancers
  • EU FP7 HELIX project (www.projecthelix.eu) – a European population study examining the impact of environmental exposures on childhood development. The project has a strong focus on molecular epidemiology and omics data integration.
  • EU FP7 HeCaTos (http://www.hecatos.eu/)
  • EU funded "DETECTIVE" (Detection of endpoints and biomarkers of repeated dose toxicity using in vitro systems)
  • BBSRC funded PhD project - PI3Kinase signalling pathway and cancer metabolism
