Summary

Advanced Chemical Sensors  - BIOE97026

Aims

In this module you will learn about different methods for sensing and monitoring of (bio)analytes and (bio)metabolites, both in vitro and in vivo. You will learn about basic chemical sensing principles incolved in these technologies, their biomedical applications and commercial considerations. This will include advanced optical and electrochemical biosensors for the detection of nucleic acid and protein biomarkers with broad applications in the fields of cancer diagnostics, prenatal testing, antimicrobial resistance, blood glucose monitoring and brain trauma monitoring. A special focus will be drawn on sensors that can be used at the point-of-care.
