Summary

Declan has been a visiting lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 2018. He is currently the Lead Scientist at FAC Technology, where he leads industrial and fundamental research into multifunctional composite materials.

He delivers, along with colleagues in the department, an ME3/4 course on Composite Materials.

Since September 2020, he is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow at FAC Technology. His research is focused on establishing the potential for bio-based thermosets to replace petrochemical derived materials as the matrix in aerospace and automotive composites.
