Summary

Dr Doris Chan is an Acting Senior Research Fellow in Nutrition in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health at Imperial College London, UK.

She has been a Co-Principal Investigator of the World Cancer Research Fund/American Institute for Cancer Research Continuous Update Project at Imperial College London since January 2020. The project aims to synthesise global epidemiological evidence on diet, nutrition and physical activity and the risk of, and survival from, cancer via systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses. The evidence is independently evaluated to inform lifestyle recommendations and public health policy.

She received her Bachelors in Nutrition from University of Nottingham, UK and her Masters in Epidemiology and PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology from Imperial College London. Her research interest lies with lifestyle factors and chronic diseases, to understand the relationships, not by one study at a time but the totality of relevant research studies globally. She is keen to update the evidence synthesis process through modern machine learning techniques. She is interested in lifestyle recommendations adherence and its health implications.
