The nonlinear properties of the electroencephalogram (EEG) signals were studied using two established nonlinear analysis methods. A delay vector variance (DVV) method for better characterizing a time series was also introduced. The proposed DVV method enables a comprehensive characterization of the time series, allowing for a much improved classification if signal modes.
