Summary

Liz is the Departmental Manager for the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, within the School of Public Health. She takes major day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the administration of the Department, including research management, finance, human resources, health and safety, and premises management.

She originally joined the Department in 2015 as the Scientific Manager for the  MRC Centre for Environment and Health, a collaboration between Imperial College London and King's College London, funded by the Medical Research Council, which is focussed on the study of the health effects of environmental hazards of major public health and scientific importance.

Prior to this, Liz managed peer review processes at the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), and worked in biotechnology startup companies in both operations and development. She has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Queensland in Australia, and undertook postdoctoral research in inorganic chemistry at the University of Oxford with Professor Paul Beer.
