Gareth graduated from Imperial College London, with a 1st Class Honours degree in Physiology, and a Medical Degree with distinction in 2003. He subsequently completed his basic surgical training in London via the Kingston/Guy’s & St.Thomas’/St.George’s Hospitals rotation, before commencing specialist orthopaedic training at Imperial College London.

Gareth obtained the FRCS (Tr&Orth) in 2012 and joined the specialist register for Trauma & Orthopaedics in 2017. During this time he was also awarded a PhD  for his research into the use of personalised 3D printed guides to improve the accuracy of joint preserving surgery for knee osteoarthritis, as well as his work on a novel machine learning approach to postoperative gait analysis.

After joining the specialist register, Gareth completed a one year subspecialist knee surgery fellowship at Guy's and St.Thomas' Hospitals,  and at its conclusion was recruited as a locum consultant by the Trust.

Gareth was appointed as a Consultant Knee & Trauma surgeon and Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London in 2019.
