Gareth is the Safety and Technical Services Coordinator for the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI), Imperial College.
Gareth gained his BSc Hons in biochemistry from the University of Bristol in 2002 and his PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of Manchester in 2007. Following his PhD Gareth spent 7 years as a post-doctoral research associate working in the field of vascular disease both at the University of Manchester and Imperial College. Following this Gareth spent two years as the laboratory manager of the Vascular Science Section and took up his current position in 2016.
In his current role Gareth coordinates laboratory management and safety across the NHLI. Gareth leads the NHLI health and safety compliance team which works to maintain high standards of health and safety across the institute. Gareth also acts as the secretary for the NHLI Health and Safety committee.
