Summary

Summary

Research: I am interested in most aspects of Earth and planetary evolution. I have worked to understand the history of Earth's mantle, its lithosphere, and planetary surfaces. I have recently been working on problems related to mapping and interpreting the history of life on Earth and the composition of drainage basins.  My work focuses on developing new datasets, theory and computational techniques to address these problems across the scales of interest and to make useful predictions about, for example, the distribution of natural resources.

Topics of interest: Geophysics, geology, geomorphology, palaeobiology, inverse and spectral techniques, fieldwork, tectonics, structural geology, geochemistry, basin analysis, stratigraphy, sedimentology, eustasy.

Teaching: Basin Analysis, Continental Tectonics, field courses (Apennines, Oman). I am always looking for new PhD, MSc and MSci students to join our group.

Academic positions and education:

2014-Present Lecturer then Senior Lecturer in Earth Science, Imperial College London

2014 Junior Research Fellow, Imperial College London

2010-2014 Postdoctoral Research Associate, Bullard Laboratories, University of Cambridge

2006-2010 PhD Bullard Laboratories, University of Cambridge

2003-2006 BSc Geology, University of Durham
