Summary

Bacterial Physiology - LIFE95003

Aims

The aim of this course is to elucidate the principles of bacterial physiology and the common themes that underpin the biology of all bacteria.

Role

Course Leader

Biological Chemistry and Microbiology - LIFE40005

Aims

An understanding of the chemistry, physics and mathematics of biological systems is crucial to a full appreciation of the physiological diversity, ecology and evolution of living things. This module aims to give you an overview of the biochemistry of enzymes, membranes, and metabolism, in a diversity of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. We also aim to develop in you the necessary mathematical skills needed to analyse these systems quantitatively, and the necessary practical skills to purify proteins and assay enzymes.
