I am a health, safety and risk professional and chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and committed to promoting safe working practices and good safety management. I believe good health & safety practices supports the objectives of the Faculty of Medicine, who I advise on all work-related health and safety issues.

Following completion of an honours degree in Biochemistry, I worked in research and laboratory management for more than ten years. I worked in the fields of protein chemistry, psychiatric genetics, marine biology, molecular and cell biology for ICRF, the Institute of Psychiatry, the MRC and Frontier Tanzania.

In 2002, I started work as Health and Safety professional with the MRC.  Since 2006, I have worked at Imperial, initially as Departmental Safety Advisor to the NHLI before working as Advisor for the Faculty.

I am particularly interested in enterprise risk management and how it adds value to an organisation.
