Summary

Concrete Materials - CIVE97093

Aims

  • To provide a good understanding of a range of topics within the field of concrete technology, including constituent materials and mixture proportioning, properties of concrete in the fresh and hardened state, microstructure, strength, volume changes, sustainability and durability.
  • To understand the key physical and chemical processes influencing the behaviour and performance of concrete in service.

Role

Course Leader

Structural Mechanics I - CIVE40006

Aims

Building on the learning in Mechanics (Part 1), the aim of this module is to provide you with a basic understanding of the behaviour of common structural forms, based on a physical understanding of how these forms are able to carry external forces through the development of internal forces in structural elements. This concept is extended to derive stress and strain distributions within basic structural members.

Role

Lecturer
