Overview
Currently I have two major research interests:
1. Regulation of RNA expression, damage and repair in the model bacterium Escherichia coli. This work links signaling pathways underpinning the immune response CRISPR-Cas systems with oxidative stress and antibiotic resistance.
2. Biological control using mycoviruses from human, insect and plant pathogenic fungi. This work explores the possibilities of utilizing fungal viruses to combat diseases such as malaria and aspergillosis, control agricultural insect pests, and protect crops and trees.
