Overview
I am interested in physics education research including evaluating innovative teaching.
I have been part of an evaluation and research focus-group-based project on students' views of one of the department's courses which built in active learning elements, and gave a talk about this at the ESLTIS 2019 conference. We are in the process of writing this up as a paper.
Over Summer 2020 I ran a successful UROP
"Student-generated questions: How effective a learning resource was PeerWise in this year's first-year relativity course?"
and in summer 2022 I was involved in a successful StudentShapers project developing the Lambda Feedback software, along with a physics undergraduate student. A follow-on project is due to run in summer 2023.
