Summary

I joined the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) at Imperial College as the Laboratory Manager and Section Safety Coordinator for the Gene Therapy Group, Prof Eric Alton and Prof Uta Griesenbach in 2019. I manage the NHLI Gene Therapy Group’s laboratories, laboratory services and operations. As section safety coordinator, I also ensure that health and safety compliance within the group is maintained to the highest standards.

I joined the Centre for Cardiovascular Genetics at UCL in 2003 having earlier graduated with BSc in Chemistry and PGDip(Eng) in Chemical Technology. In 2006, I graduated with an MSc in Medical Molecular Biology from the University of Westminster and joined the Prion Genetic Modifiers in Mice Group, MRC Prion unit, as a Research Officer. As a research officer I took on an increasing role in laboratory management and obtained a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety in 2017.
