Overview
This webpage summarises my research activities, which involve the application of fluid mechanics and continuum mechanics to understanding biomedical problems. The general approach is to simplify and idealise the problem to make it possible to solve analytically or semi-analytically. This increases our fundamental understanding of the problem, and leads to new insight into key areas of physiology and medicine.
Areas of application

Areas I have worked in:
- Fluid flow and mass transport in the eye
- Blood flow in the arteries, including arterial curvature, compliance, wave intensity analysis, pathological conditions
- Blood flow and mass transport in the microcirculation of the liver
- Devices to measure arterial blood pressure
- Propagation of electrical signals in the myocardium
- Behaviour of electrochemical sensors

I am a member of the following societies:
- Member of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA)
