Miss Solorzano has a background as an advisor and researcher for various government and academic institutions in Colombia, Sweden, Germany, the U.S. and U.K. on matters related to economic growth, innovation, international cooperation and foreign relations.
She has over 10 years of experience in industrial strategy and economic development, of which five have been focused on the international trade sector working as an economic specialist for the U.S. State Department; she has also consulted the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington D.C., in the design and deployment of various economic development programs in Latin-America and the Caribbean. Miss Solorzano holds a BA and MA in Economics from Los Andes University, Colombia, an MSc in International Financial Analysis from University of Jönköping, Sweden, and is presently pursuing her PhD at Imperial College London.
Her current areas of research are high-growth entrepreneurship, intangible investment, innovation and productivity. Her main supervisor is Jonathan Haskel and her second supervisor is Ralf Martin.
