Summary
As Director (Careers Service) I am responsible for the oversight of the operational running of the service and the development and implementation of strategy. I report into the Director of Student Services and have a close and collaborative relationship with the other leads of core student services.
I have overall responsibility for the financial planning and management of budget within the service as well as authority for all our college level statutory requirements around risk management.
The Careers Service supports a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external to the college with students and graduates at the centre of the work that we do.
Our mission is to use our specialist expertise and data insights to enable all our students and graduates to prepare for and transition into futures that align with their personal goals, values, and aspirations. We achieve this by building effective partnerships and collaborations with academic departments, opportunity providers and our network of worldwide alumni.
Currently we are reviewing our operational framework and are working toward the creation and implementation of a new plan (2022 - 2028). This builds on our service provision as we emerge from the global pandemic and fully transition to a hybrid operational model.
I represent The Careers Service on various college committees including:
- The Post Doc and Fellows Development Centre Concordat Implementation and Planning Group
- The Postgraduate Professional Development Committee
- The Graduate School External Advisory Board
- Imperial College Cross Selling Group
