My background is in the development of novel plasma diagnostics – specifically X-Ray spectroscopy and optical Thomson scattering. My current research primarily involves leveraging this experience to design and run experiments which use XFELs, synchrotrons, and high power lasers in searches for axions. These are particles which are not included in the standard model. Their existence would solve the strong CP problem and they are also a potential cold dark matter candidate.

I previously worked on the MAGPIE pulsed power facility at Imperial College. Here, my primary research interest was in radiation driven plasma physics experiments. I maintain a strong collaborative involvement with this group, particularly in the areas of radiation science and experimental instrumentation.
