Summary

I am an assistant professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I am building a new pulsed-power generator, called PUFFIN, to study fundamental processes in magnetized high energy density plasmas. I am a visiting academic in the plasma physics group at Imperial College.

I was a Research Associate at Imperial College London, working on the Mega Ampere Generator for Plasma Implosion Experiments (MAGPIE). I completed my PhD in 2017, in which I studied magnetic reconnection studies in pulsed power driven plasmas. As part of my post doc I looked at generating magnetised turbulence using pulsed power.

Between March 2019 and March 2020 I was a post-doctoral researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching by Munich, Germany. I designed, prototyped and tested bolometers and pressure gauges for the ITER project. I rejoined the MAGPIE team between March 2020 and December 2020.

I blog at Fusion and Things, and I'm on Research Gate.
