Summary
Dr Jie Zhang has a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters degree in Tribology and Surface Engineering from China University of Geosciences (Beijing). His Masters project was ‘The Study on Tribological Properties of a Glucose Microemulsion’ (2005-2007). He then joined the Tribology Group in Imperial College London, worked on his PhD project “The study on the friction, wear and film formation properties of ZDDP-containing oils” and completed in 2011 (2007-2011). From 2009 he continuously worked on consultancy work for oil companies and involved in other projects in the Tribology Group (2009-2013). Since 2013 he started to work as a Research Associate on ‘Implementing Lubrication in Micro-Electro-Mechanical System’ project (2013-2015), ‘The Characterisation of Ashless Antiwear Tribofilms’ project (2015-2016), and ‘Mechanochemical behaviour of ZDDP’ (2016-now). He also received an Marie Curie Fellowship and worked as an Experienced Researcher in the beginning of 2017.
