I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Department of Brain Sciences and Consultant in Stroke Medicine at the prestigious Imperial Stroke Centre, Charing Cross Hospital. I am also an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in Geriatric Medicine at The University of Hong Kong, and Clinical teacher at The University College London and University of Bath.

I have more than two decades of experience in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Stroke Medicine. My earliest Stroke Consultant post was in Bournemouth 2006-13 (Head of Department 2009-12), and I served as the Regional Stroke Network Director 2008-12. I then worked abroad as a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Hong Kong 2013-2018. I returned to London in 2018 as a Senior Stroke Consultant at the Imperial Stroke Centre, and became the Head of Original Stroke Research (Department of Brain Sciences, Imperial College London) in 2020.

I am the Director of the Imperial Post-Stroke Cognitive Clinic and Post-Stroke Cognitive Research Group. I am also the PI for the Imperial Stroke Thrombectomy Registry. I am involved in research collaborations with many stroke research centers in the UK, USA and Asia.

I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, British Association of Stroke Physicians, Royal Society of Public Health, European Stroke Organization, and The American Heart Association. I am passionate about educating and training the next generation of doctors to become competent and compassionate specialists. I serve as an Examiner for the Royal College of Physicians.

I am a strong believer of the holistic self-care approach including nutrition and strength & conditioning, promoting well-being and fitness of the body, mind and spirit.

My private practice is situated at the new Cleveland Clinic London, where I work as 1) Consultant in Stroke & Neurosciences at the Neurosciences Institute (Neurorehabilitation Unit and Outpatient Department) and 2) Consultant Physician at the Acute Admissions Unit. Book an appointment here.
