My PhD research involves using gravity models to study the spatial and temporal invasion dynamics of the 2014-2017 Zika and chikungunya epidemics in Colombia. Gravity models describe movement from one location to another based on population size and distance. This work will improve understanding of disease spread at the subnational level, which is important for informing preparedness activities for future outbreaks.
My PhD is supervised by Professor Christl Donnelly at Imperial College London/University of Oxford and Dr. Pierre Nouvellet at University of Sussex. I am funded by Imperial College London’s President's PhD Scholarship.
