I am a Biomedical Research Council (BRC) funded PhD student in the Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction (Division of Digestive Diseases) supervised by Professor Elaine Holmes and Professor Mark Thursz in the Gut Health theme focusing on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

Within the context of IBD, my research focuses on the use of metabonomic techniques and microbiome characterisation to understand disease pathogenesis and therapeutic response. My research has mainly focused on the use of NMR, GC and LC-MS.

Before starting my PhD, I completed my MRes also at Imperial College London, undertaking research in Traumatic Brain Injury with Dr Robert Dickinson, and metabolomic profiling of models of Prenatal Stress, through the use of NMR, with Dr Jonathan Swann. Prior to this I graduated with a BSc(Hons) in Biomedical Science at the University of Westminster.

Outreach Ambassador for MSACL (The Association for Mass Spectrometry: Applications to the Clinical Lab)

Early Career organising committee member for the European Metabolomics conference, January 22-24 2020 (Toulouse).
