Summary
My research interests focus on deciphering the functional aspects G protein-coupled receptor biology, particularly GPCR di/oligomerisation, in reproductive systems. Using super resolution imaging, we have probed the molecular landscape of gonadtrophin receptor associations, coupled to functional second messanger assays to link the di/oligomeric status of receptors to the functional output. We are looking both at homo- and heter- dimerisation of gonadtrophin receptors, and how receptor-receptor associations can provide a way of fine-tuning the signalling output of a receptor subtype to mediate the physiological requirements of key reproductive events such as ovulation.
