Summary

Summary

I am a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Paediatric Infectious Diseases Consultant at the Centre for International Child Health at Imperial. My main research interests are age-related immune responses to infectious diseases, in particular to Group B-streptococcus(GBS) in neonates. I am interested in improving our knowledge of how maternal antibody in blood and breast milk is passed to babies and how this protects them from colonisation and disease and how we might improve this with vaccination. I am funded by the the Thrasher Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Membership:

Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), Academic Paediatrics Association (APA), British Paediatric Allergy Infection and Immunity Group (BPAIIG), Children's HIV Association (CHIVA) and International Child Health Group.
