Kai is a research assistant in the Department of Bioengineering and the Department of Mathematics. He researches AI, with a focus on deep learning, reinforcement learning, and computer vision. He previously received a BA in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge in 2012, a MSc in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London in 2014, and a PhD in Bioengineering at Imperial College London in 2020. He has also been a research intern at Twitter Magic Pony, Facebook AI Research, Microsoft Research, DeepMind and NNAISENSE. He is passionate about open source and organises the Deep Learning Network to promote deep learning research within and outside of Imperial.
