Summary

Design of Steel Buildings - CIVE70104

Aims

This module teaches you the fundamentals of conceptual design of a range of structural framing systems used within Steel Buidings in the construction sector. This is achieved through consideration of issues related to structural form and behaviour, analysis, practical considerations in steel fabrication and codification using EC3. The module also integrates some of the structural analysis methods you have studied previously such that they can be used to provide approximate and quick design methods for guidance on initial sizing of structural components within Steel Buildings.

Role

Course Leader

Structural Dynamics - CIVE70095

Aims

This module provides you with a general grounding in the basic concepts and principles of structural dynamics. It introduces the most common dynamic phenomena in structural engineering and trains students in the idealization of dynamic phenomna, their analytical formulation and their mathematical solution.
