The paper investigates the dynamic behaviour of partially restrained steel-concrete composite frames coupled with viscoelastic dissipative bracings. A number of time-history analyses have been carried out on a one-storey frame coupled with a viscoelastic dissipative bracing using an advanced numerical model. The purpose of the analyses is to identify the influence of the type of beam-to-column connection and property of viscoelastic bracing on the performance of the hybrid system. The outcomes of the analyses show that the viscoelastic bracing can be used as an effective dissipation system, where the plastic hysteresis of the joints provides a significant contribution to the overall structural performance under destructive earthquakes.
