Summary
Lynn Maslen is the Centre Manager of the MRC-NIHR National Phenome Centre (NPC) based at Imperial College London as well as supporting the NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre Clinical Phenotyping Centre and being Project Manager of the MAP/UK MRC Partnership Grant. Prior to her appointment at the Centre, Lynn was the Imaging Centre Manager for the Comprehensive Cancer Imaging Centre here at Imperial College London. Lynn began her scientific career with a BSc (Hons) in Horticulture from the University of Reading before undertaking a number of lab-based years of post-graduate research. Lynn then joined the Medical Research Council's Clinical Sciences Centre in the Molecular Therapy Group as Scientific Officer and Data Manager before moving to carry out the same role for Prof Eric Aboagye's research group at Imperial College London. Lynn then moved to a Departmental Administrator position with University College London before coming back to Imperial College London to the post within the Comprehensive Cancer Imaging Centre grant which was awarded to Prof Eric Aboagye and co-investigators (for further information regarding the Centre and its research please see the dedicated website here).
Lynn has moved careers from lab-based scientist to professional administrator, and to assist with this transition Lynn has undertaken a second degree, being awarded a BA (Hons) in Strategic Administrative Management in 2009. Lynn is a Fellow of the Institute of Administrative Management and is also a member of the Association of University Administrators and the Chartered Institute of Management.
