Summary
As a Project Officer at the UK Dementia Research Institute at Imperial, my role is to support the day-to-day operations of the Centre and specifically to support Group Leaders and their teams with College and UK DRI administration. This includes preparing regular finance reports, keeping the Centre and group websites current, supporting our Group Leaders with funding applications, co-ordinating recruitment panels, creating graphics to accompany presentations, etc. I currently work remotely but look forward to joining the new researchers on Level 7 of the Sir Michael Uren Hub of the White City Campus.
I joined the UK DRI after completing my BSc degree in Biochemistry at UCL, in which I chose to explore the Complement System, its Dysfunction and the Role of Genetics for my third-year literature review. I am interested in a broad range of research areas, including immunology, ageing and neurodegenerative disease, and therapeutic applications of biotechnology, and in the future hope to further develop my technical skills in a lab-based role.
Besides my keen interest in biological sciences, I have strong abilities in art and design and, whilst at University, enjoyed creating graphic illustrations to accompany scientific articles published in the UCL Kinesis Magazine.
