Summary

Hello!  Welcome to my site!

I am a Clinical Research Fellow and a general and clinical NIHR Research Design Service advisor. It is a wonderful experience and an uncommon privilege to accompany researchers in their Eureka moments, development of grant applications, and assist them in refining them for the National Institute of Health Research funding.

After becoming a medical doctor and internship, I entered the awe-inspiring world of science and discovery by first doing a PhD in Public Health. I studied under Professors Rifat Atun and Azeem Majeed about health systems integration of public health interventions. To see the findings of my research cited in the UNICEF, UNAIDS and the WHO reports was most gratifying and helped me see that - in whatever small way - my research made a meaningful contribution to making the world a better place. More recently, I also completed an Executive MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management at the LSE.

I have extensive experience of conducting Cochrane and other types of systematic reviews, including methodological reviews.  As such, I was appointed a methodological lead for a large programme of systematic reviews and health technology assessments for the WHO that will inform transformation of health workforce development. Their focus is eLearning for health professional education.

Like all of us in academic enterprise, I love to teach, am busy reading, writing, peer-reviewing for academic journals, examining MPH theses and always feel there are a million and one things I haven’t yet done or learned. It is also a privilege to supervise undergraduate, Masters and PhD students.

Finally, my other research interests include innovations in healthcare delivery, identifying health system priorities, health literacy and health economics of eHealth. If you share these, it would be wonderful to hear from you.
