Summary
Dr Linda van Keimpema is an evening class lecturer at the Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication (CLCC), where she teaches the course Understanding Science: An Introduction to Science.
Linda completed her education in the Netherlands with a BSc and MSc in Bioengineering and a MSc in Neurosciences. She holds a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience from the VU University in Amsterdam.
Linda has taught STEM subjects in primary, secondary and higher education. She joined Imperial at the start of 2020 as evening class lecturer at the CLCC. Linda also worked at the Faculty of Medicine from 2020-2023 as Strategic Teaching Fellow and Digital Education Fellow to improve the online and blended teaching and learning delivery in the undergraduate science programmes.
Linda has initiated the Invisible Warrior project: a societal engagement project to raise awareness for sickle cell disease, and the Science Actually podcast: a podcast by Imperial's students and staff interviewing Imperial’s experts, exploring myths around the human body (season 1) and the science that is shaping our future (season 2). For these initiatives, Linda was recognised with two President's Award for Excellence in Societal Engagement: the Leadership Award and Team Achievement Award.
