Summary

Biochemistry of retroviral integration

By studying the HTLV-1 integrase with structural biology methods - mostly X-ray crystallography and cryoEM - I am addressing basic questions about the mechanism of integration into host DNA in this virus family.

BASILIScan - software for protein flexibility determination

show research

BASILIScan is a tool I have created for the community of structural biologists to better assess intrinsic disorder (i.e. flexibility) in proteins. The program can save you from a lot of painstaking "wet-lab" construct screening to find a crystallisation-suitable construct by finding the closest homolog of your query with the lowest possible disorder. Visit the project website: http://www.basilisc.com to learn more and download the software for free!
