Summary
Munira Elmi is a London Interdisciplinary Social Science (LISS) DTP funded PhD student collaborating with Guy’s and St. Thomas Charity (GSTT).
Munira is a PhD student within the Environmental Research Group. She will be working on the WellHome (Imperial) study and the Impact on Urban Health (GSTT) programme. Munira will investigate the perceptions in marginalised communities of the relationship between indoor-outdoor air pollution, the associated health effects, and how this relationship has been impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Munira is a public health specialist with experience in infectious disease epidemiology, health protection, global health, and disease control programmes. She has a background in multidisciplinary research with an interest in social research methods. Munira holds an MSc in the Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
This project is supervised by Dr Benjamin Barratt (Imperial), Dr Heather King (King’s College London) and Dr Diana Varaden (Imperial).
