My research interests are related to decentralised systems (both energy and waste treatment), with focus on both the technologies, and economic and policy aspects. I undertake research and consultancy at local, UK, EU and international levels. I am active in support of energy policy development, having contributed to the 2003 White Paper analysis on low carbon energy scenarios, the DTI Renewables Innovation Review and preparations for the Prime Minister’s G8 activities on low carbon technologies.
I have been Principal Investigator of a wide range of projects and contracts over the past five years, with a total value of more than £2M, and co-investigator on several others. As part of the White Paper process, I worked with AEA Technologies for DTI on low carbon energy scenario modelling, leading a follow-up study reviewing international scenarios for low carbon technology costs. I led a review of low carbon technologies for the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, and CHP work on the DTI Renewables InnovationReview.
