Summary
I am primarily interested in the following domains:
- Geological evolution of sedimentary basins – geodynamics and tectonics, burial history, thermal processes, and fluid dynamics
- Petroleum systems analysis – source, reservoir and seal rock deposition; oil and gas generation, expulsion, migration, and trapping mechanisms and overall timing; preservation, fluid properties and PVT analysis
- Play assessment and resource estimation – play fairway maps, chance of success, and volume estimation
Those topics require numerical modelling using high-end software from the petroleum industry (Petrel, PetroMod, …).
I am teaching in various MSc modules (Petroleum geology, basin and petroleum systems modelling, resource evaluation) at Imperial College and other universities.
