Integrative Cell Biology - LIFE95012

Aims

ICB will give students an understanding of how molecules, cells and organs are integrated intofunctional systems. Students should gain a deep appreciation of the principles of: cellcommunication (cell-surface receptor proteins and intracellular pathways), neuronalcommunication and the brain, the key concepts in the cell biology of development, the biology ofstem cells, and the constituent components and regulation of physiological processes within theimmune system. ICB will build on first year cell biology teaching and complement MacromolecularStructure and function 2.
